The all-new Lone Peak 7 has finally arrived in South Africa!
I have been a Lone Peak fan for many years and it's my go to Altra for anything from a short run around my backyard trails right up to 100 mile races.
Over the last month I have had the opportunity to test the new Lone Peak 7. This version does not disappoint!
As a start, the re-designed heel collar, seamless upper, streamlined overlays and new upper materials, makes this version feel far more locked in. As a result, the shoe feels like it offers more support over very technical terrain without changing the roomy Original FootShape fit. The sizing has not changed from the Lone Peak 6.

The 25mm stack height still offers a moderate amount of cushioning without losing ground feel. This version features the Altra EGO™ midsole compound which offers the perfect combination of responsiveness and comfort.
The biggest change however comes with the outsole. The new improved MaxTrac™ outsole with it's updated lug design and layout offers incredible grip. I was able to test this superior grip on the Batrun race, which covered rocky technical terrain in very wet conditions. Grip and drainage got a 10/10 on it!

All in all I am impressed with this new version and look forward to testing them even more in the coming months.
